The First Time Exporters Initiative has been carefully designed to help high potential micro enterprise companies/LEO clients of Longford, Laois, Westmeath & Offaly expand into international markets for the first time. The programme is designed to equip business owners and managers with the relevant in-depth knowledge, know-how and confidence to take the first steps to export success.
We appreciate that the current business climate is extremely challenging and winning new business is more important than ever. Therefore, the programme will be delivered by experienced sales professionals and will include practical topics such as “lead generation”, “best practice in virtual selling” and “negotiating export contracts”.
The programme will commence in October 2020, and over the next 6 months will deliver the following key outcomes:
- 6 practical workshops delivered by experienced export professionals.
- 1-2-1 mentoring with a senior business leader to help implement your export plan.
- A market Insight visit to a relevant export trade event.
- Identify collaboration/partnership opportunities for participants.
- Develop new sources of funding and support.
The 6 workshop modules will cover a range of topics, including:
Introduction to Exporting –creating a plan, market research and how to identify target markets.
Export Market Development – finding customers, distribution channels, digital promotion, product & pricing.
Export Sales Skills – prospecting, account management, negotiation, tendering.
Virtual Selling Best Practice– website/social media, Zoom sales meetings, e-commerce.
Export Essentials – getting paid, export guarantees, logistics, import/export regulations, funding options, managing agents/distributors.
Market Visits – event research, getting buyer meetings, preparation, marketing collateral, professional face/face meetings, getting commitment, winning business.
